Ride SummaryTerrain: Paved multi-use path: fairly flat with some small rises.

Gather at 11:00, rolling out at 11:10

. I'm going to be there at 10:30 am  to  go over my  bike, pump up tires etc. so show up early and we can go over your bike.

We will go from  nimbus fish hatchery  to guy west bridge and back. Our average speed for the whole ride (excluding stops) is intended to be 13 -16mph, which means speeds on flat straight sections will probably be around 16-17mph at the most.

On the way out we will take a short rest (10min.)  at riverbend park just before the bridge on the right side of the trail  to eat our power bars , fill up water bottles and use the restrooms.

Please make sure your bike is in good working order, tires inflated and so on. Bring water, snacks, and you must wear a helmet.

We are not riding in any kind of paceline. And please remember that pedestrians and equestrians have the right of way on this multi-use trail and lets not forget the wildlife that's out there as well (turkeys, deer, and snakes).

You can pay to park for the day in the Sunrise Recreational area (or buy a yearly recreational pass - all monies go right to the park system!)

Street parking is available in Fair Oaks on the other side of the bridge and also on  south river  road(where they park for rafting) off of Sunrise Blvd. And another option is to park at the fish hatchery 1 mile up the trail for free.

Yearly parking passes are available at local REI stores and also directly from Sacramento County Parks:

if you earn less than 40k you can get a yearly pass for $10.00 for all county parks

FYI:  An RSVP is a social commitment. Your host and organizers go to great lenghts and often personal  exsense to make these events fun and enjoyable for you. If you are unabale to show up please update your rsvp 30 minutes priar to the ride. This is so the group can leave on time.

so its going to start raining on Saturday through Sunday and I may have to cancel the ride for safety reasons. we are going to guy west and there's not much Dupree in the trail we can still ride. if you don't mind getting a little wet. if its raining hard there's no ride and I'll go mtn-biking instead.
