Metric century traing ride, 1 of many!

We (the club)have been riding together since July 31st 2013, and some of us have expressed an interest in pushing a little harder and further, even at our age. So riding a metric century(65miles) has been discussed as a goal to try and achieve in 2014.  we  would like to start some training rides to prepare us.  We will need to increase our climbing and distance...  It will mean we will have to venture off of the American River Bike Trail.  Here is a sample ride we could try:

Just a few hills.  Distance: 30/40  Elevation: 1,000/2500  Pace: 14-16 on flats, faster on descents like 45.8....right Carol. slower on hills like 5.1mph  Please bring plenty of food, water, spare tube, patch kit, etc. This isn't a difficult ride, but not for beginners.
The meeting place/starting place is Folsom Bike, 7610 Auburn-Folsom Road, Folsom/ but we meet across the street at 7:11 for better parking.

sweeping: yes, roger in the back of the ride making sure we all make it to are next regroup spot.

Here is a metric century training site you can do during the week or when it rains us out.    http://www.cff.org/UploadedFiles/Chapters/maryland/ChapterEvents/Training%20Rides.pdf    just copy  and paste.

with the meds part of the side affects is pain in the shoulder and neck muscles that kill. I couldn't even lift up my neck to look at the road. I couldn't finish 20 miles last week. so I'm Leary on to doing a 30/40 miles. So do you all want to ride the streets or ride down to guy west bridge from the 7:11 parking lot.....up to you.

Maxine, this ride may end up slower and shorter than originally planned. You may want to ride from your place to Folsom bike for the extra miles/workout :)

Roger, Guy West from 7-11 will be more than 30 miles. Do you just want to ride around Natoma in the reverse direction? I'm not liking that you are not feeling well.
