For this week only!!!! Change of venue: Lake Natomas. Sources are telling me that a major Nor Cal highschool race will be taking place at GB tomorrow. Don't want to overcrowd/want to be kind to the trail so a change of venue is in order.
To all my fellow mountain bikers:
Come join us as we master the ins and outs of the Granite Bay Lake Natomas trail. This ride is designed with the novice and more experienced rider alike. No rider will be left behind. There will always be someone around to ensure that everybody feels safe and has a good time.
Mountain biking is an exciting sport that can be enjoyed by everyone who knows how to ride. It does, however, present some additional challenges compared to the average neighborhood ride. Master these basic skills and turn those obstacles into something to look forward to. We will reserve plenty of time to tackle those hills and master those turns with confidence. Perhaps our more experienced riders can show us how to navigate through the technical spots with ease.
All abilities are welcome! We will meet at the Cavitt Junior High Sutter St. Light Rail Station parking lot at 1:00 pm and start riding 15 minutes later. Expect to be out on the trails for at about 90 minutes or longer. Depending on rider turn out, we may break up into groups mixing riders of different levels together!
Please bring a well-tuned mountain bike. Remember to bring a spare tube and plenty of hydration (water or electrolyte beverage) and a light snack if needed. HELMETS ARE ALWAYS REQUIRED. Please ride at your own risk.
We will enjoy some mountain bike sodas and yummy treats after the ride. Hope to see you on the trails!

Hi folks,
Some of us came upon 2 equis while on the north side of Natoma. From my perspective, those on the dirt trail quickly yielded to the adjacent paved path. However, I did not hear what the lead equi was saying as we passed by.
So who heard what? Did anyone have a verbal exchange?
For clarification about the trail, I'll post some additional info & maps on the discussion forum.
Thx,
V~

Hey all! Jim Guyette is back from his work related assignment in Ireland and tour thru Europe. He's ready to get back in the saddle again so let's make this a special "Welcome back/Fledgling ride." We could bring snacks to share after the ride to hit up Roundtable afterwards and let Jim regale our group about how much he missed us! LoL.

Where did "Mountian Bike Sodas" come from? That just makes our drinking group sound like we have a biking problem.

I second Vida's idea! This sounds like fun. Jim can lead the more experienced and I will lead the Fledglings. Teamwork! Repeat all abilities are welcome! Oh and got to get more nourishment! ;)
