MTB Granite Bay - Boomer Edition (take two)

Okay - let's try this again...

Please note - although this is a slower paced ride, this is NOT a beginner trail.  As Baby-Boomers we tend to ride slower.  Meet at  10 am and roll out by 10:15 am.  Should be back at the cars within three hours.

You should be very familiar with your mountain bike and be comfortable with shifting, braking, climbing, and descending.  There will be a few technical sections so it is imperative that you know how to handle your bike AND know your limitations. This is a moderate ride for beginners with some short, but challenging hills and is about 13 miles total. You should be comfortable riding 10 mph at a recreational pace on the flats. Remember, THIS RIDE IS FOR FUN and NOT INTENDED TO BE A TRAINING RIDE OR A RACE!

This is a no rider left behind ride. We will stop at the top of all major hills to rest and catch our breath and take breaks as needed to ensure all riders are ready to continue.

All riders are expected to have mountain bikes in sound working condition. Not a trail for hybrid bikes. Please bring a bike that is in good working order, spare tube (not a patch kit), water/electrolyte drink (at least 20 ozs) and a light snack if you feel the need.  HELMETS ARE REQUIRED.  As a courtesy, if you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP.

If necessary, we can break up into two groups.

Maybe 3 groups - I can lead a moderate pace group. Looking at some of the riders signed-up we could also have an option for a fast paced group.

Rain is forecast for Saturday morning..hoping the Meteorologist are wrong!!

    December 26, 2012

    • Terry

We need to think positively and nobody wash their car. There's only a 30% chance of rain for Saturday. IF it does rain on Saturday, it just needs to start after the it did for the ride on Christmas day.

Good "sunny" thoughts for Saturday morning between 10am-1pm, at least lol :))

Hopefully we dry up well by Saturday..would hate to damage the trails! I plan on treading lightly by riding my 'cross bike :)
