Return to The British Wildlife Centre....

This a brilliant place and I am going to go back to see if I can capture some slightly different shots.  It is a great opportunity to see the finest collection of native wildlife in Britain. See over forty different species from tiny harvest mice to magnificent red deer.  If it is raining I will postpone till next year.

Two challenges:

1.  Bird in flight

2.  Cheeky red squirrel

There is still time to enter the annual photographic competition more details here:

http://britishwildlifecentre.blogspot.co.uk/p/photo-competition.html

Entrance fee is £10.50 - no Meetup fee as we have done this so recently.

Great day out apart from being a tad cold - the animals still came out to say hello.

A lovely day out even though it got quite cold - such good fun that I'm thinking of becoming a squirrel! Thank you Mandy.

Sorry I am having to change my RSVP on this one - I hadn't realised that it was the end of half term week and I had promised to have my granddaughter to stay on the Saturday night, so will not be able to get there at the right time,

    Hi Den
We attended something similar through the Hawk Conservancy, we enjoyed the day, however at that time we were not equipped for the day, having only Canon EF-S[masked]mm, so we were very limited as many had much better glass. If you don't have at least a 300mm or a 400mm then you will struggle to get the images you want, particularly flight shots, portraits will be great as you get up & personal

    Hi Mandy,
This looks a great day, Is this a BWC photographic day? As I see on the 4th Nov they are holding a British Owl day where you can catch them in full flight and get close up to them. Has anyone attended any of these days ? as I am thinking of attended, I know its not cheap at £85 for the day but I think it will be worth it.

I have heard back from the centre. "As our animals are hardy British species they're out and about in autumn and we will run keeper talks" So I will keep the event on the website providing the weather is king.

Thanks Tony. With the seasons being all over the place I think we will make a decision nearer the time. I have already contacted the centre to see which keeper talks are going ahead.

I think now we know the setup as well we should get some very interesting shots.

You may want to move this to earlier in the year, we have been in winter months, things are very different. Remember about a quarter of native UK species hibernate from the first frost till spring
