A late afternoon and early evening photo session. We can take a walk along Southbank capturing a variety of images with the landscape changing as the light fades giving an opportunity to take some nightime shots and appreciate the wonderful Christmas decorations and lights along the way.
I would suggest we try to meet at Waterloo Station at 15.00 near the M&S at the NE end of the concourse - past platform 18 and near the York Rd exit (NOT the M&S opposite platforms 6!). If we can set off by 15.15 it gives us 35 mins to get where we want to go for sunset - maybe we can all decide on the day. Options - left along the river opposite Houses of Parliament, or right on to Waterloo Bridge - good views of the EYE. Hopefully if sky is clear we will get some good 'blue hour' shots. After we can wander on - Southbank past OXO tower to Tate modern and the wobbly bridge, or wherever people fancy. Should be good opportunities for long exposures to get great river reflections, blurred people, blurred buses and light trails. The lights on the Southbank are quite amazine in their own right and I'm sure there will be lots of Christmas themes.
If you have one bring a tripod and preferably remote shutter release for those long exposures if you have one.
So the challenges will be: 1) A good Night Shot with lights, colours, reflections etc, 2) Movement, and 3) Something to capture the whole atmosphere of the place and people.
As with all meetups please say if you can not go so we are not waiting around in case people are late or lost.
