Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan

The Joy Luck Club (1989) is a best-selling novel written by Amy Tan. It focuses on four Chinese American immigrant families in San Francisco, California who start a club known as "the Joy Luck Club," playing the Chinese game of mahjong for money while feasting on a variety of foods.

[I am hoping it is better than it sounds...!]

Really sorry I can't make it today. My life has been consumed by job applications lately. Am hoping to make it to the May meeting! Hope you enjoy the sunny afternoon :)

I have space reserved at the Clockhouse in Teddington, probably in the room on the left as you go in, but if you ask the bar staff for 'Book club' they will hopefully point you in the right direction. Am hoping that this doesn't inconvenience too many people... i am likely to eat too, as i am sure the clockhouse will prepare something far tastier to whatever i can rustle up

The Clockhouse in Teddington and the Druids Head in Kingston might be good options?

Do you want to meet a little earlier, and have 'dim sum'.
I suggest 'Tin Tin' 75 Hampton Hill High St. At 12.30,[ they close at 2pm].
It is 5 min walk from station.

can't make this next meet up (it's my birthday and I'm away) - great book though. I read it years ago. The Kitchen God's wife is great too.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
