Apache Bigtop Working Group

Hadoop* Components working session. This isn't a class. Please visit HortonWorks/Cloudera/MapR if you are interested in a Hadoop class.

These are working group meetups where we meet every 2 weeks to see what others are doing to learn and to eventually contribute open source code.

This is the second of a 3 part series. Goal is to get hands on experience with HDFS/Hadoop, Pig and Hive in preparation for writing Groovy or Java integration smoke tests.

We use the fees to cover facility rental. Nobody gets paid for these sessions.

This is a hands on coding session. We cannot accommodate people who want to stop by to sit in to observe

If you want to learn here is the material we are covering with screenshots and output:

We are going to try something new this session, with Charles Nainan covering Hive!

We will cover some M/R, Pig and Hive examples and how to modify the book examples into Java and/or Groovy code.
