YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT BE APPROVED unless you have a CLEAR FACIAL profile photo without sunglasses. No full-body shots, not you with 5 friends, etc.…your face must be large enough to be seen via smartphone without zooming. No exceptions! This is a safety issue, for you and the organizers.
YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED if it doesn't comply with the photo requirement.
YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED if you haven't been logged on for 6 months or more.
YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED if you haven't been to an event in 12 months or more.
Our trips vary from city and easy-trail walking to strenuous long-day hikes and multi-day backpack trips. We have members from North Vancouver to Chilliwack and even Blaine and Bellingham…and our activity locations are just as diverse.
Start off slow and then taper off......

Looking to meet local outdoor enthusiasts that are NOT SPEED DEMONS ON THE TRAIL (or don't mind a slower pace), but love to do amazing, SOMETIMES TOUGH AND CHALLENGING hikes.
Just because we're not speedy or crazy fit doesn't mean we don't want to be at the top of Cheam or Needle Peak or High Pass at Mt Baker or Cascade Pass/Sahale Arm off the Cascades Hwy..etc. etc.! We just don't get there fast!
There are plenty of hiking groups suited for the strong, fast hikers out there. We will keep a relaxed pace and enjoy the journey in a mellow manner. We only travel as fast as the slowest person in the group ...and it's requested that if you are much faster that you stop now and again, to allow the rest to catch up.
Please respect the idea of this group, and be willing to slow it down a bit...otherwise, why join?!!
Hopefully, we will revel in stunning views while enjoying the company of fun & friendly people.
This should allow people of differing levels of fitness and experience a chance to get out and enjoy the trails.
We will also throw in a smattering of other activities such as biking, kayaking, movies, pub night, etc, but will always TRY to incorporate a walk or something active with it.
WE ARE NOT TRAINED EXPERTS, and are out to have a great time just like you. But, as a group of friends, we will do our best to make sure everyone has a fun and safe trip.
That doesn't absolve you of responsibility! Educate yourself at a minimum (Some ideas: books/Google/Clubtread/Wta.org/Nwhikers.net/MEC/REI etc. so that you are aware of trail & animal safety, 10 essentials, trail etiquette, destinations, etc.) Be prepared!
