Spar Women’s Race

There’s an incredible energy as[masked] women take to the streets of Pretoria, each a glowing ambassador for the race’s slogan ‘I am beautiful’. South Africa’s elite female athletes have set personal bests on this relatively flat course, including Rene Kalmer and Irvette van Blerk.

The 10km consists of three gradual climbs; otherwise, it is relatively flat. The last 2km to the finish line are downhill. The 5km route is completely separate and takes participants through residential areas in Centurion.

Free T-shirts, medals and goodie bags will be given to all[masked] entries.

Pre-entries will be available at www.sparwomensrace.co.za. There will be no late entries.

5km runners and walkers. Let's also meet at the SAOA stand nr 52. I drove past there yesterday and my original meeting spot now has a barrier so do not know where else to meet. [masked] . Please come early enough to still move to the starting line.

Hi...I apologize for the late organisation for the 10km, but had a few emergencies crop up! For those doing the 10km, I'll be there from 1pm, and you can find me at the SAQA stand, which is stand number 52. You can phone me on 0725997839. Thanks!! Stay warm :-)

Hello all! Am excited to see so many eager enthusiasts participating in this fun walk!! I just wanted to hear how many people are walking the 5km compared to the 10km's? The starting points for both differ, so I thought it best if someone from the 5km would volunteer to organize where and when to meet and I would oversee the 10km meetup? Here is a link to the map, and as you will see, they appear to be quite a distance apart, so it would be best to meet at the separate starting points.

Let know if anyone is willing! :-)

Hi - I entered last minute today (phew!) but they only had an XL t- shirt for my daughter - if anyone wants to swop a smaller size for the XL let me know. Thanks.

Hi Kim. Is it too late to register. I want to do the 10km as well.

      August 18

    • Kim S.

Hi Dawn, no, I don't think so, but limited tickets left. You can register at your local Spar and they will give you your number and t-shirt immediately. Maybe go there and find out, but think it would be ok still to register.
