It has been said by Cheryl Richards "true happiness comes when you do what you are most passionate about.” I am not sure if true happiness follows being passionate, but it does make me more motivated to succeed, it creates challenges that I feel I can handle, yet still stretches me. It provides opportunities for my goals to be easily attained. It prompts me to step out of my comfort zone and attracts others to me. I will agree that it is a definite starting point toward happiness.
Another quote that I love about the importance of following your passion comes from Steve Jobs “your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”
I couldn't agree more, while at the moment you may not be able to persue your passion as a career, you can try and find other avenues to satisfy this need until circumstances allow you to obtain a position in that field. You can still make it happen, you can fill this need.
I have been lucky enough to find my passion; I am just trying to restructure my life to fit it in. Many are still searching for it. Regardless of where you are on your path to finding and living your passion and hopefully happiness ~ your experiences and opinions are important and we would love to hear them. We grow from our shared experiences and I know you have something to add, or can benefit from the conversation.
Please join us as we discuss ~ how to find passion as a route to happiness ~ at our next meeting.
