New York, NY 10010For the last couple of years I've coordinated our Laughter Yoga Meet-Ups to coincide with the outdoor concerts in Madison Square Park. It's a beautiful thing.
I apologize for not showing up last Weds ... I was feeling under the weather and decided it was best to take care of myself first. I called everyone who left me their number. If I didn't call you, it's because you didn't leave your number (in the space especially for that, when you RSVP'd). Hopefully all who RSVP will remember to answer all the questions.
Bring something to sit on while watching the concert.
Tonight the concert is scheduled for 6pm (usually it's at 7pm) and lasts for about 1:15 mins or so.
If it will be longer I will change our MeetUp time accordingly, (ie Perhaps we'll meet 15 mins later.)
On tap for tonight will be:
Alecia Nugent and The Farewell Drifters
6:00 PM - ?? (will call on Tuesday to see how long this concert will be lasting)
Voted Female Vocalist of The Year, by The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America, Alecia Nugent sings bluegrass and country that can tear the barn down, then bring you to tears. Nugent?s latest release Hillbilly Goddess (Rounder), spins traditional bluegrass with her own contemporary sound.
The Farewell Drifters, mixing equal parts bluegrass and The Beach Boys, open the evening with songs from their sophomore album Yellow Tag Mondays. (Heart Squeeze Records
To be on the safe side, I scheduled our laughter exercises for 7:30pm -- if this changes I will let you know.
We'll be meeting by the Tree Stump pictured here. (not far from the Shake Shack) IMMEDIATELY AFTER the concert.
Then we'll walk together to the Great Lawn (or whatever lawn is open) and laugh on purpose.
Laughter is great for getting rid of stress and tension. It also lowers BP and cortisol levels, oxygenates our organs and blood and makes us feel great all over!
Please bring some friends - the more the merrier! Looking forward to laughing with you!
