This is one of Detroit’s most unique holiday celebrations - a pub crawl in Corktown and Midtown with hundreds and hundreds of people dressed as Santas and Elves and all sorts of other holiday costumes.
The celebration starts the Gaelic League Irish-American Club located on Michigan Avenue near Slow’s BBQ on Michigan Avenue in Corktown. From there rented busses whisk you away on the crawl to any one of 10+ different pubs along the way. Stay at any pub as long as you like and move on to another pub via one of the several buses at any time you want – just make sure you don’t miss the last bus back to the Gaelic League!
For those who have attended this before – it is definitely not a traditional Christmas celebration – more a celebration of Detroit and downtown pubs with people in Santa wear. Holiday costumes mandatory (buy one at Party City for $40) – it is a lot of fun!
