Subject: How to Work a Networking Event

Need help to expand your business perspectives?
Find employment?
Make contact with that one person that can open doors for you?
Are you connecting with the right people? Well, today's social networking environments practically demand that you have at least some knowledge of effective networking practices in order to achieve the results most of us are looking for. Topics that will be covered will include:

  • Ways to be more memorable
  • Easy openers for any scenario
  • What it takes to be a likeable "schmoozer"
  • Four myths re: networking
  • How to be a "pay it forward" focused networker

For some, this session will serve solely as a reminder, but for many, it will offer valuable new insights on what to do. Just as importantly, you will learn what not to do while you're out there working hard to maintain good standing within your social networks (on-line or otherwise), and striving to grow and nurture your own invaluable social capital. A good way to learn about Sandy and her message is to read a review of her book, "Just read this book and am very impressed with the practical advice that it offers. Sandy does a great job of pointing out tactics that work to make the most of networking situations. She also points out that just about every interaction with others is a networking event. By approaching your day-to-day this way you are casting a wide net. The other thing I really like about this book is that it doesn't just point the reader to online networking sites where friends are easy to come by but hard to leverage. Sandy points out the importance of real world, quality networking interactions over online quantity interactions. All-in-all I think this book will help anyone who wants to be more connected to explore new possibilities in their career or other areas they might be interested in but just don't know the right people yet." -Joe H.

If you want to learn how to be a better networker, pick up Sandy's book or come to this event an get a copy of her book for free. -----------------------------

Tonight's Meetup was fun and interactive, Sandy was amazing!
After the Meetup, Michele, Liz, Mary and Pat and I went to BJ's to continue our networking involvement, we laughed, shared and deepened our connections from what we learned from Sandy!

It's great to attend Mitchell's Meetups because the size of the group is intimate and conducive to getting to know each other well, very good "listening skills" to practice and the Authors are always outstanding and the topics relevant to Silicon Valley's Events! A Great How To Event tonight!
    Thanks Sandy!
