Personal branding is important in the modern era. When people change jobs -- whether voluntarily or not -- they leave a large part of themselves behind. Unless they have developed a personal brand. What is a personal brand and how do you develop it? Does having a narrow field of expertise, such as creating technical standards, limit your ability to brand yourself? How can you leverage today’s social networks to develop your personal brand? What kinds of publishing are available to enhance your brand? During this interactive talk, we’ll answer these questions and In this session, you will learn:

  • What a personal brand is.
  • Why a personal brand is important.
  • How social networking can help you develop a personal brand.
  • Why publishing valuable content adds to your brand .
  • Specific suggestions on how to create a personal brand.
  • How to make it work whether you're a solo-preneur or within a large corporation.

Karen Bartleson gave an outstanding, lively presentation on standards and she also shared about her Corporate business background knowledge which really helped us to better follow and understand standards creation and their use. It came in very handy for me since I recently started a new business and need to know about their relevance and processes. Her book is clear and easy to read for a beginner like me. Thanks Karen!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
