Let's experience amazing energy with thousands of other caring people in support of the hungry and homeless in Washington, DC by participating in the 11th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger on Thursday, November 22nd. It is a great way of making this special day more meaningful.
Please register and donate $25 using this site:http://support.some.org/site/TR?fr_id=1140&pg=entry
The walk starts from Freedom Plaza. It usually attracts at least 6,000 trotters! Bring your friends, kids and/or dogs. The 5K Walk begins at 9:00am, but we need time to find each other and pick up our packets (T-shirt and number).
The event is organized by SOME (So Others Can Eat) - DC long standing charity organization, that was recognized in WTOP contest as DC top charity organization: http://www.wtop.com/1171/2965718/So-Others-Might-Eat-ranks-as-WTOPs-Top-10-charity
In 2011, the number of homeless families in Washington grew by over 18%. More homeless men, women and children are depending on SOME for food, services and affordable housing. Let's help SOME to continue to provide housing, training, medical help, meals and support to those in need.
