SJ Rep Presents 2nd Young Professionals' Mixer - Faustus

After a wildly successful introduction of "Young Professionals' Night" at the San Jose Repertory Theatre in March, I am happy to announce that it will now be an ongoing event! The next production is "The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus" on Thursday, May 16th.

Join other young professionals for socializing when the doors open at 7:00 pm, then see this high-tech, “medieval punk” (think steam punk, but medieval instead of Victorian) new adaptation of this well-known story. This version is a fascinating combination of both low-tech and high-tech mechanisms and features projections – lots of projections - on the set, on props, even on the actors’ costumes. It uses shadow puppets, life-size cage puppets, and actors playing multiple roles, occasionally simultaneously. All of the normally hidden aspects of
a play will take place on stage – you’ll see the stagehands and the wardrobe folks, costumes changed and props provided, making this not just the telling of a great story, but of how the story is told.

Faustus sells his soul to Lucifer in exchange for infinite knowledge. Heaven, Hell,
good angels, bad angels, demons, the devil, and a dragon – yes, a dragon - all join the action. This is an exciting, imaginative, non-traditional, out-of-the-box production that is sure to be a memorable experience. If you love theatre that tells a great story while pushing boundaries and demonstrating how theatrical theatre can be, this is one you will want to see.

Use code "Pros13" online or at the box office for a $10 discount.
