4th of July Picnic Lunch Hike

Last minute 4th of July hike and optional picnic. Lots of folks have later plans, for those that want to stretch their leg's before the feasts, here is a tidy little 2 hour or so hike.

Bring your lunch and we will hike on St. Joseph's Trail to the top of the hill overlooking the Santa Cruz mountains. We will start on the Los Gatos Creek trail on Main Street next to the bridge (there is an entrance there) at 11 am taking the Manzanita trail, and leave promptly at 10:40. Stragglers can catch up from the map at the link below:

This is a fairly short hike, about 5 ½ miles, but parts are a bit steep so you should be in fairly good shape. Bring plenty of water, appropriate comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, your lunch, a smile, and enjoy getting to know the fun members of your group. There are a lot of open spots, so don't forget the hat!

The actual hike takes about two hours, so the total event time will be 2 ½ to 3 hours depending on how much time we spend admiring the wonderful 360 degree views from the top.

Sorry. I had hoped my knee injury would be better by this morning, but it's a no go. Have fun on the 4th!
