Here's some info on the lineup for tomorrow's event.
We will have a series of short talks by three local hardware developers, beginning shortly after 7:00pm. They are:
Chris Graham, who is developing a family of ready made (breathXpression) and DIY (WindHacker) electronic wind instruments. He is also author of GeoSonix, an open source graphical music creation environment. e.g. http://vimeo.com/...
Colin Fitzgerald, the founder of Placedroid, who is developing low cost pick-and-place services for hardware developers. His goal is make rapid, short run manufacturing accessible to makers - think shapeways for Pick-n-Place!
Pooya Kazerouni, founder of Linquet, a super easy, smart and comprehensive anti-loss/anti-theft solution for your phone and valuables.
We will have a short open mike - please feel free to speak about your current projects, a recent success or challenge — and don't be afraid to ask for advice!
We will follow with some open discussion around building a vibrant hardware community in Vancouver.
I will be speaking briefly about my current project, www.makerlabs.ca, and would like to ask how it can best assist your product development cycle or aspirations.
There will be some time following to speak with others and seek advice. We should wrap by 9:00.
