Grin Technologies - Justin Lemire-Elmore (Founder)

Grin Technologies Ltd. is a small Canadian engineering company based in Vancouver that is dedicated to advancing the state of after-market electric bicycle conversion kits. Grin designs and makes clever electric bike parts and accessories that are universal in nature and not locked to proprietary standards.

Justin, founder and owner of Grin Technologies Ltd. studied Engineering Physics at the University of B.C. and started the first UBC e-bike club. In 2008, he spent two months riding across Canada from Vancouver to Halifax, using only $10 worth of electricity.

Electric bikes are a new and promising alternative form of urban transportation. They provide all the advantages of a regular bicycle: fun exercise, free parking, zero emissions, and freedom from gridlock, while eliminating one of the bicycle's more serious drawbacks, lack of power. In most situations in the city, riding an electric bike will be faster and cheaper than either car or public transit.

Justin arguably knows more about electric bikes than anyone else in Vancouver, and maybe even Canada.  He will discuss both his extensive experience as an entrepreneur in this field, and also reflect on the roots of the electric bike scene highlighting some of the challenges faced and still expected along the way.

Zaber Technologies   - Andrew Bruce Lau (Co-Founder)

Andrew Bruce Lau is a co-founder of Zaber Technologies, a company specializing in precision motion control. He is also a Maker, dabbling in robotics, electric bikes, and gardening. Bruce believes that the spread of DIY culture is a “Good Thing.” It is catalyzed by curiosity, it is an outlet for creativity, and it is a driver for innovation. Bruce thinks that DIY can make your food taste better, make your bike go faster, and make your life more interesting.

Bruce is going to share with you the story of how Zaber was founded by passionate Makers, how we took the scenic and non-linear route to grow the company organically and sustainably, and ultimately how you may even make a living doing what you love.

Intiimi Technologies - Bartosz Bos and Adam Wilson (Co-Founders)

Bartosz Bos and Adam Wilson have combined their backgrounds in High Volume Additive Manufacturing (3d Printing) and Mobile Application Development to form Intiimi, which is creating a line of consumer products designed to improve and maintain sexual wellness. Expect to learn some history, see a glimpse of the future, and discover an untapped opportunity to "Get to Know Yourself Better".
