Was there – is there – life on Mars? NASA’s Curiosity Mission TOPIC NASA’s latest robotic explorer, the Curiosity rover, successfully landed and deployed on Mars on August 6, 2012. Designed to further explore the surface of Mars and study its geologic past, Curiosity is also studying organic compounds to determine if life forms ever existed on Mars. A former NASA astronaut will discuss this exciting mission to Mars and what we have learned so far from the Curiosity rover. PRESENTER Don Thomas, Ph.D., director of the Willard Hackerman Academy of Mathematics and Science at Towson University. He is a veteran astronaut with 1040 hours in space and a stellar 19-year NASA career.
