Photographing Waves Workshop with Harold Davis

YOU CANNOT REGISTER FOR THIS WORKSHOP HERE!

Please do not RSVP 'Yes' here unless you are already registered with Point Reyes Field Seminars.

This workshop is full! Please call Point Reyes Field Seminars at (415)[masked] x 373 for the wait list.

Waves are one of the great forces of nature and photographing them is a joy and a challenge. In this workshop, we will consider the role of patterns in composition and learn how to use short shutter speeds to stop the motion of a wave. We will let the motion of the surf create our images for us. We will start with an orientation that will explain wave photography techniques and then head to the field for at least two magnificent locations to practice these new skills. Then we will head back to the classroom for a review of the photos and a few insider tips.

Note: Harold has given this workshop annually for a number of years in the late autumn. It is always fun with great photo opportunities, and has sold out each year. If you are interested in the workshop please take advantage of this early notice, and register early while space is still available.

Tuition is $90 for Point Reyes National Seashore association members ($95 non-members).

Saturday, November 23,[masked]AM - 8PM

The workshop was really well structured, with plenty of time to talk, shoot and share ideas at three different field locations - I learned a lot about how to use shutter speed as a creative tool, how to think about patterns for composition, focal length / depth of field tradeoffs, and we even had time for some show and tell and post processing tips. All in all, a fine day with talented and amiable companions, and a superb instructor!

Hey Walker, Harold is probably sleepy, so I can forward the information that was previously sent out by Jennifer of PRNSA. Send me a private message and I can respond.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
