After having spent 2 hours on the side of 395 waiting for a flat repair, I had to find someplace to sleep and I made it as far as Lee Vining. After a few hours of afternoon nap, I had some time to work on a few images. I started with the Milky Way, as this is the first time I had an opportunity to photograph it.

I feel for you Harvey. Same thing happened to me on the way home. One inch gash in my tire. Your images look like it was worth it though. Very nice. Rick.

Couldn't make it this year, but have been anxiously awaiting photos from this class. Wonderful image and a meteor too!

Richard, it was worth it! Fortunately, I purchased road hazard warranty on tires when new in June.

BTW, this is a blend of 2 of the 1049 images captured with this camera on the last night in the Patriarch Grove. Layered blend of sunrise shot (5:16am) with one at 10:03pm. My camera was running from the time we arrived before dark to after sunrise the next morning. I lost some of the images due to the rain storm (water on the front lens element). Both photos 24mm at 30.0sec. f1.4, ISO 3200
