Harrisburg Drumming Along the River

December's Holiday Drum Circle and Dessert Party was a great success with almost 40 people attending. Let's keep the energy going and make our January circle equally awesome! Hope to see you all there for a fantastic evening of rhythm making (and if you care to bring any leftover Christmas goodies, I'm sure no one will complain!).

As a BRAND NEW drummer with a total of ONE lesson under my belt I cant wait to make it to a circle but alas I cannot make this one :( One question though to the group in general: When I do make a circle and bring my drum no one would be offended if I dont feel comfortable to play would they? I have no problem playing in front of my instructor and he does say good things about my playing but I am still a little self conscious one his other students/friends who is at his place and even let me take my first lesson on HER DRUM makes me nervous if she listens and all she wants to do is drum with me....any suggestions on how to get over that?

Ditto on what Janice said. Our circles are not performances. It's just a bunch of people getting together to have fun and make a little noise. If you don't feel comfortable playing, that's OK. Eventually, the rhythm will bite you and you won't have a choice...your hands will just start moving! We're looking forward to meeting you and having you as part of our not-so-little group!

One of the greatest returns we have seen in the formation of "Harrisburg drumming along the river" was the growth of drumming and friendship in our community. From the beginning where there was but a few small drum circles limited to those of similar beliefs, to ours which is open to everyone and all ages from all walks of life. Here at "Harrisburg drumming along the river" we hold true to the the basics of a Drum Circle. But from our growth, new drum circles have and are emerging and it is all good.
    Peace

That's reasonable, I think--no one else seems to be paying attention here, at the moment : )

No, it's only spam if it's email, right? I'm not sure what the protocol is for this sort of thing, what is your motive? : )
