Hike the Linvill and Indian Orchard Trails at Linvilla Orchards Sunday June 23

Join Fran for a hike on the Linvill and Indian Orchard Trails in Middletown Township, PA.ADDRESS:Linvilla Orchard 137 West Knowlton Rd. Media PA 19063. We will park at the Linvilla Orchard Parking  lot so support the orchard and buy something from the market.  Look for Fran.  Plan to arrive at 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM start time. We will meet   in the parking spots by the Linvill Rd parking lot entrance and  start the hike from there.  This is a group activity  so please stay with the group.  We will hike the Linvill and Indian Orchard Trails. Total distance should be around 5 miles.  We will hike over packed earth, some asphalt, and mud.  Some hills.  This hike is comparable to the Ridley Creek White Trail, but less hills. The Indian Orchard Trail The trail passes in a relatively compact setting terrain representative of the best that is found in Middletown Township. The approximately one mile trail, with yellow trail markers, traverses woodlands of mature hardwoods and conifers, steep slopes, high-grass bottom lands, several varieties of ferns, wildflowers in season, and features five delightful foot bridges over meandering creeks. Picnic tables and charcoal grills are found near the parking area. The Linvill Trail is approximately 3-1/2 miles and is marked with white trail markers. It follows the perimeter of the open space property acquired by the Township in 1987 and offers wonderful long views of rolling farmland and orchards fringed by woods. The trail is an easy hike over relatively flat terrain. Dress appropriately for wet and muddy weather conditions.  The grass  is also a little bit high so you may want to wear long pants and bring bug spray. You may want to consider bringing any or all of these items: water, snacks, hat, first aid kit, walking stick, field guides, binoculars, and or a camera. Due to the mud,  bring dry shoes and socks to change into.  NOTICE: By attending an event you are agreeing that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AT ALL TIMES. Truly enjoyable morning. It was nice to do it before it got too warm and humid and after getting in a nice workout we were able to hit the Linvilla farmstand market. Ohhhh, Strawberry-Rhubarb crumb pie for dessert.
Thanks Fran, and thanks to all my co walkers for an enjoyable day.
BTW, my pics are posted. Enjoy!

There were some hills but not too strenuous. 4 1/2 was the total and that was enough for me on a hot day!

Forgot to add no dogs on the hike as no dogs allowed as Linvilla and we will be on their property for part of the hike. Also, this should take about 2 hrs to hike so you can plan your day accordingly.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
