Northwest Park in Windsor

Another short, after work hike at Northwest Park.  More of a walk in the woods than a serious hike.  Since Gloria is on the mend, I will lead a few walks until she has recovered. A hike departure no later than 6:10.  We'll walk 2 - 3 miles in about 1 - 1.5 hours.

The walks here will cover rolling trails, and most have water views.  Check the trail map on their website if interested, www.northwestpark.org.

Meet in the parking lot at 6:00.  Kids and leashed dogs welcome.

Check back that morning to see if I have updated the plans based on weather or other factors.

I will be re-posting this walk on a regular basis weeknights, generally Tuesday, in the coming weeks.  Hope you can join me sometime.

-Larry

Note about dogs: While this is a dog-friendly hike, the dog owners need to be responsible. Park rules require leashes. If you choose to break that rule and let your dog off the leash, please be sure it is okay with the other hikers (some of whom may not be dog people) and be sure you can control your dog when off leash. Finally, please be prepared and clean up after your dog when needed.

It started to rain almost as soon as I left the park. Then I had more rain and drizzle on the way home.

Thank you to all who were brave enough to face the weather. It turned out OK, until my drive home.

Still scattered rain. It may be dry, or wet. We will see at the time.

With the iffy weather, I think I will cancel. I just came back from Scotland where I ended up hiking in rain. Not fun

weather.com is saying cloudy by 0% chance of rain between 5 and 7 today. I'm not up to walking the distance yet, but may stop by and walk with you for a bit.

Still on? Any update on the weather?

The weather is iffy. It's not predictable what we will get at walk time. I will be there and we will see what it is like.

I am hoping to go as long as it doesn't rain. I have a blue Honda civic.

It's just possible I might stop by this one, even if I can't walk the whole hike yet!
