Let's try this again, hopefully with no drizzle or car accidents.
Machimoodus State Park is a fairly new park. It was once a part of a private recreation area. Its 300 acres feature trails, ponds, and views along the Salmon River.
The name Machimoodus comes from the Indian words for “place of bad noises”. The area is subject to micro-earthquakes that caused rumbling sounds before modern traffic and technology drowned them out.
This will be an easy walk of about 1.9 miles with average ups and downs. Social walking pace.
Calm and well behaved dogs are welcome. Children are welcome as long as they can go the distance.
The walk will be rescheduled if there is a threat of rain.
