The Source to the Sea Cleanup will be at 8am, Sat., Oct. 5 at the Wethersfield Cove Park. This event is being organized at the Cove by Jacqueline Talbot, River Steward, CT River Watershed Council, Julie McLaughlin of the MDC, and me, Jim Woodworth, Stewardship Chair, Great Meadows Conservation Trust.
This year the goal is to attack the motherlode of trash that has been piling up on the north side of the Wethersfield Cove since I-91 was built in 1963. With the river level so low, the floatables are lying high and dry waiting to be picked up and disposed of properly.
Join a diverse group of Scouts, high school community service kids, and outdoors people to make a real difference in an area south of the Hartford dike known as the Folly Brook Nature Area.
