Introduction

I love to hike. It's great to find a new place to explore and see the vistas. I also really like to have someone to hike with. I've hiked a lot and a little in NY, CT, NH, VT, MA, ME, UT, ID, & WY. Sometimes do campovers. Love winter hiking.

What's your favorite hiking location?

Upstate NY, high peaks region. Yellowstone NP. Meriden & Middletown, CT area.

What type of hiking do you do (in terms of length and difficulty)?

I hike up to 20 miles in a continuous 1-day hike. Have done some with overnights. Do flat to mountain hiking. Did a few hikes out west (Yellowstone NP; Antelope Island, UT; Snake River Canyon at Twin Falls, ID).

What do we mean by a 'Winter Hike' at Hartford Area Hiking

"Hi all. When we post a hike as being a 'Winter Hike' it means we expect winter conditions. That would usually include snow or ice. Temperatures in the 30's or below. Windchill temperatures in the 30's or below...."
