What's your favorite hiking location?

Pharaoh Wilderness NY Lake George Kayak Camping /Tongue Mountain Range NY Pemiwagassett Wilderness NH

What type of hiking do you do (in terms of length and difficulty)?

I do most of my hiking in New Hampshire and the South Taconic Range. I am not an especially fast hiker, but I have done 16 miles in a day with a 30 lb pack, broken trail from Lincoln Woods Road to the flats on the way to Mt Flume with snowshoes, hiking after sunset. I have slept at Mt Kinsman Shelter at 0 deg F, and in the back of my pickup at -25 deg F, gotten caught in freezing rain at 13 falls in a Bivy Bag without any problems. So I am pretty experienced but still getting into a shape...2.7 mph sustained on a climb with a pack is out of the question.

I love to hike and camp but solitude is not always an agreeable companion. I'm hoping to make new friends and learn as much as I can.
