Shabbat dinner and service

Please join us for Shabbat dinner and an uplifting, joyful Shabbat service.  Havurah Simchat Ha Lev is an intentional Jewish spiritual community.  Friday night Erev Shabbat services are held in the Social Hall of the Boca Raton Congregational Church, 251 SW 4th Av in Boca Raton, right next door to Cong. Beth El.  Our service leader for this month will be R. Louis Reiser and our wonderful musicians and singers will be working closely to provide guitar and cantorial uplifting music, which will take our prayers higher and higher! Part of our service will always include an interactive Torah learning and silent guided meditation.  Sue Gurland will continue leading a "Prepare Your Body for Shabbat" class. This a 20 minute gentle movement class held just prior to the service at 6:30 and it's for both men and women.

Before the actual service begins, we will have a community pot-luck dinner. Please bring a vegetarian dish along with serving utensils for your dish. Scrumptious desserts will be provided! We will also provide challahs and wine for kiddush.

We will be meeting the last Friday of every month. All dates will be posted and announced via the MeetUp calendar.  Please arrive promptly.  We will be lighting candles at 7:10, followed by kiddush, motzi, dinner and then our service. When you arrive at the church parking lot, you'll see a sign directing you to the Social Hall.

RSVP is essential ahead of time so we know how many tables and chairs to set up. There is a $10 fee to pay for the room rental and set-up/clean-up helper which will be collected at the door.

When I bring the vegetarian dish, does it have to be kosher? Because I do not have a kosher kitchen.
