Dogs are Allowed (Always on leash)

Directions:  From HNL Head West on the H1. follow signs to PearlRidge.  Blaisdell Park on the left.  Google Directions Here.

Meet in the Parking Lot Area Next to the Harbor.

To make this a little harder, wear a backpack.  Excellent training for backpacking.

All, Please update your RSVP due to the change in venue. Mahalo!

With the trail muddy right now and a 75% chance of rain, it looks prudent to change the venue. We will be Meeting at Blaisdel Park for a hike on the Pearl Harbor Bike Path this Saturday. There is plenty of fun things to see on it. Come out and test your rain gear. More info to come. Waimano Loop will be scheduled in about Two Weeks. This rainy season will end soon enough.

I'm canceling because of rain. Hopefully the weather will get better

It appears the weather is developing not necessarily in our favor, as there is 70% chance of rain. We have the option of moving to another location that we can more safely hike in the rain,or taking a rain delay. The option would be a paved path, such as the Pearl Harbor Bike Path or Hanuma Bay. Feedback and suggestions welcome.

I love the outdoors. I'm happy I found this meetup network on Hawaii.

For those of you who are doing this trail for the first time, I would suggest you bring either a headlamp or a flashlight for the two dry tunnels. They're not very long tunnels, but pretty cool to hike through them.

Good Idea Alan, I updated the text to include your suggestion. :)

Do pants or shorts matter on this hike?

    January 25, 2014

    • Bob C

I always like to wear long pants on these hikes. They provide protection from the sun, bugs, slips and falls, and scratchy bushes. Lots of people wear shorts though :)
