We had a great time making the video and Tammy Villalobos from Hayward High joined us as well as Cal State East Bay reporter was there.

Bill-thanks for bringing that keyboard program that you made on python. My kids loved it and sure beats Typing Pal (typing program they are using at home and the schools use it too). Bring that gadget anytime...the kids really liked it.

A few people discussed our goal for the meetups and we want it to be focused on fun and hacking rather than planning and pr and such. So Cristina came up with a group hack that we might be able to do as a group which is to make a simple augmentative communication board that is not IPAD or Kindle based or phone based. Something cheaper than $60 to build/make. With buttons and switches and lights (no pictures needed) and ability to be plugged into a computer to be programmed to say phrases that a parent can record. That would be a fun and helpful project. Another project would be coming up with an interactive screen. You know those screens that you display on the wall or ground when you touch it, it is interactive. But something cheaper than what is currently out there. Something hacked.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
