I have three invites to purchase Google Glass. The invites have to be made by EOD today - if you'd like one, send me a PM with your email address included.

(Please be aware - if you weren't already - that they will run you $1500 plus sales tax and you will need access to an address in the US to where they can be shipped. I think you are however able to possibly get away without having a US billing address i.e. a US debit/credit card. If you can't satisfy the criteria, or simply don't wish to part with 1.5K, please spare your requests and allow others who can/do.)

    Cheers, Steve

Massive, Thank you to all the participants and congratulations to two lucky glass winners. Special thank you to Jet and LBi digital for hosting heads up london meet up. Stay tuned to 2014's first meetup and I can promise it will be even better and exciting.

following on Steve- to ship items from US, you can use bundlebox.com, will organise your US address and gets best fedex rates, worth the sign up as you will get it back in lower shipping cost..

I just ordered my Glass (separate invite from those given out yesterday), couple of things to take note: -

    1) Need to come from a US IP address, coming from anywhere else you get to the normal Glass pages and cant order, the order URL is
    http://glass.google.com/getglass
You can use a VPN service.

    2) You need to ship to a US address (or pick-up from various points in the US)

    3) Credit card needs to be registered to a US address (you can fake it, but probably need explicit consent from your card company - which I did in advance, they add a note to the card, so if it comes in from that address, they'll auth the transaction).

    4) You also get stung for sales tax, this varies from state to state, some significantly cheaper than others (where it's shipped to or collected from).

Would also like to add that you will also likely have to pay shipping to UK and import duties. The import duty comes out at about £260.

Thank you Jet and Steve for sharing this info

Does anyone have any good photos from the evening?

    December 18, 2013

  • Matthew D.

During the panel discussion we were all talking about Mirror API vs GDK and one of the comments was about the only way to display static cards being through the Mirror API, now the new version of the GDK has come out it is now possible. Release notes are available from https://developers.google.com/glass/release-notes#xe12 for those interested to see what else is new.

Wonderful event and venue, it was a bit hard to find, but inside LBi was amazing space for great events like tonight. Very informative and Salman is geeky as always that I have to admit I was a bit lost there. But it was great to see all the presentations. If I write about this event on my blog, I will post the link here. In case anyone is interested in the Oculus Rift/InfiniteEye meet up last week, I was there and I just posted a blog about it. Hope you have fun reading it!
