Yoga is a profound way to heal ourselves, to discover our strength, and to find emotional balance.
The practices of yoga are powerful. However, yoga in our culture is mostly too exclusive, too expensive, or too intimidating to be available to those who could use it most.
This class aims to break that barrier down.
This a gentle, slow moving class appropriate for absolute beginners or those who already have a practice but want to focus more on self-healing, alignment, or restoration. You do not need any experience with yoga, nor to have a super healthy body. You do not need to RSVP.
This class is powerful for anyone. In particular, such yoga practices have scientifically proven results for those undergoing treatment for cancer, working their way through life changes, struggling with stress, anxieties, depressions or PTSD, eating or self-esteem issues, healing from trauma, and recovering a sense of control and joy. Yoga touches these very human experiences in ways that traditional medicine and talk therapy simply cannot.
You won't need to share any information with other members during class, nor will you be required or pressured into any postures you do not want to do. Karin has worked as a crisis counselor and has extensive training in both yoga and interpersonal support: the goal is to meet you where you are, rather than bring everyone into the same poses. Fact: this class will be healing even if all you do is sit or lie down on the mat the whole time. No judgement, all good:)
We all know someone who could use this. Please forward this information to them.
Bring a mat if you can (available at target, walmart, any sporting goods store, and now Old Navy!).
