just thought i'd drop a note about the bugs on the trip to james bay
last time i went they were bad this time they were bad on the first two days
after that the bugs were not a problem from day three on
i even layed on the breach of my island on james bay to suntan with no bugs

Hi Mary. I considered this trip, but 2 weeks is a long time. Last summer 2 friends and I started half way up to Moosonee. It was a great canoe. I'm doing the Grand river later in the summer. See you there.

O yes late june is bug heven up north
May that far north no bugs but you will freeze to death!!
July\Aug less buggy and berries are out
BUT that river gets low even in late june i had to slide my boat over rocks a lot "2009"
of course a wet year will have more water than a dry one a bit of a shot in the dark
hope to see you on the water if not on the way to the bay then a day paddle
