About Imbolc
Imbolc is a Celtic fire festival that marks the first signs of spring! The word 'Imbolc' means in the belly which signifies the lactation of the ewes, the flow of milk that heralds the return of the life-giving forces of spring.
The snowdrops start to appear at this time. This eagerly awaited flower is still considered the first flower of spring symbolising purity and cleansing of the earth after winter. The snowdrop reminds us to honour our pure essence and nurture the tender shoots of inspiration in our imaginations as the time of hibernation and dreaming is coming to an end. Now is a good time to sow seeds of intention for the year ahead and look after them well, to ensure we reap fruit later in the year during the time of harvest.
Imbolc is associated with the Celtic Goddess Bridie. Bridie with her white wand is said to breathe life into the mouth of the dead Winter and to bring him to open his eyes to the tears and the smiles, the sighs and the laughter of Spring. The venom of the cold is said to tremble for its safety on Bride’s Day, and to flee for its life on Patrick’s Day. Bridie is said to be muse to poets, healers and the blacksmith. During the ritual we will invoke her energy and honour her with some gentle creative activities.

Hi Claire, thanks for your comment. We finish at 7 exactly. If it was 5 mins before 7 that would be ok, otherwise it may disrupt things.

Hi Bea, many blessings for tonight! I usually can't make week nights unless they're a bit later in the eve or book the day off work - I work in Slough you see ;-). Happy Imbolc!
Thanks Beatrice, I'm considering it so as I wouldn't have far to go.... I wonder will people show up even if they are not registered here. Best wishes anyway for a nice evening, Claire
Hi Claire, we had a lovely ritual last night with 8 of us there! Amazing that people showed up despite the freezing cold! Next ritual will be for spring equinox at Buddha on a Bicycle on March 23rd and have got a later time to meet 6.30 for a 6.45 start. I will post here soon. All the best, Beatrice

sounds like such a lovely event.... but I am torn, there's an event held by LCS at Bloomsbury Baptist Church the same evening, unless I could leave before 7, but that prob wouldn't work.....?!
