I'm part of a multi-consultancy/multi-departmental team tasked with helping the federal FDA/CDC raise awareness of existent (and planned) open-government health-related data/content, to determine desired types/formats of data, and to help grow communities of developers around that data and content. Some of the group I'm working with is located in D.C., some in Atlanta, and some in the Bay Area. If such data/content offerings seem of interest to your meet-up, I'd love to attend one of the gatherings and learn more about your group, as well as answer any questions on the above.

Area of health tech interest:

I'm a former C/Unix coder, now a tech journalist. I regularly write for Oracle, and have also covered technology for such publications as Wired and the Huffington Post. I'm currently consulting for a health department within the federal CDC/FDA.
