Meetup on 18th June now includes mHealth Green Paper discussion

***Please note in order to accommodate a World Cup match in which England are playing, the date has been moved by one day to the 18th.***

We will be meeting again at Baker Botts, just behind the Bank of England.

Alex Wyke from www.Patient-View.com/myhealthapps.net and I, on behalf of www.DHACA.org.uk will between us present our views on appropriate responses to the EU's Green Paper on mHealth (final responses due in by 3rd July). Almost everyone in the UK will be affected by proposed changes in the EU regulations affecting mHealth, and by other measures being considered by the European Commission so, whether or not you plan to make a response yourself, do come along and participate.

This will be followed by one of Mike Clark's excellent presentations on the detail of how the UK's health & social care system actually works - for those who have never heard his presentations before, these are not to be missed.

At the suggestion of Izzy Scott Moncrief, we are also going to trial a pitch session in which five startups each have five minutes to pitch their idea. Izzy has one already booked - the remaining four slots, which I'm hoping can cope with the changed date (please let me know if you cannot) are:

Emily Moore - JointPRO, a remote web-based tool that captures Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).

David Greenwood - 20Signals - Low cost home blood testing to optimise health and fitness. http://20signals.com.

Dr Leonard Anderson - Kemuri. Sensors and social care for vulnerable people living alone. @KemuriSense.

Laura Willoughby – www.joinclubsoda.org.uk. Change your drinking. Cut down, stop for a bit or quit. Set goals and monitor progress with apps, nudges and rewards, plus community and 1-1 support. Join as a founder member @joinclubsoda

Finally, do please note that, for security purposes only those who have registered can be admitted.

The Division of Surgery at Imperial College London requires a Clinical Trial Coordinator to manage patient recruitment and data collection for a personalised healthcare project. In this project we will monitor the physical activity of bariatric surgery patients throughout their weight loss journey using apps on their mobile phones. Do you know anyone who might be interested in this post: http://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/AJB029/clinical-trial-coordinator/

Very useful intro to EU mHealth paper, complexity & reality of how NHS is changing; plus inspiring talks on development of mobile apps. Thank-you One & All.

EU Green Paper and the Future of Health and Social Care should be widely circulated.

5 star rating. Thank you to Charles Lowe and Alex Wyke for presenting the excellent contribution made on behalf of the 140 members of DHACA in response to the EU mHealth Green paper that could have a significant impact on the future development of health Apps

Hi Leonard, as I've already seen your pitch before I have tried to 'like' you. However apart from finding your BLE comment on another submission, I'm afraid I never found your submission. Can you give more guidance on how to find you?

If you like what they see tonight, you could help my bid to get US$ 200k from Cisco. See my posting on http://wp.me/14MGf

Sadly the move crashes into the community library fund raising event where I give technical support.

The date change has caused me problems. I may be able to rearrange my time-table - I certainly did not have the World Cup as a priority on the next day. In the interim, could people look a my blog http://wp.me/p14MGf-Ct to get more information.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
