Japanese Village

This will be a unique dining experience for us all, and fun!!!

It is not an intimate environment, but a very entertaining one!  Depending on the dish you choose, choice of protein, and the sauces used, this can be a very healthy dinner.  The food is not deep fried, but grilled right in front of you! There are vegetarian options for those interested, yet from my phone conversation with an employee at the Japanese Village, your dish would be grilled in the kitchen to avoid having it mix with any meats.

We have a table of "10" for this event with our very own chef!

Cool fact about eating!

Did you know? "Chewing your food matters! A smaller meal well chewed gives more energy to you than a bigger meal that isn't chewed well." More great facts about chewing, click here!

More information!

Unfortunately, the Japanese Village does not have a website, but there definitely is some information about it on Urbanspoon. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/15/190784/restaurant/Victoria-Park/Japanese-Village-Calgary

As well as on Trip Advisor: http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Restaurant_Review-g154913-d705268-Reviews-Japanese_Village_Steak_House-Calgary_Alberta.html

Here is their menu "a little hard to read, sorry": (Please note, dinner will be about $30.00's, and we will not be able to have separate bills, but just one big one.)  *We can pay separately at the till though. :)

Please be on time, as we will start 15 minutes after we have arrived. If you cannot make this event, then please Un-RSVP.

See you then!!!

Hmm you're saying we do not mean our positive comments ? There is a good book called "Protein Power" written by two doctors. It has been a while since I read it, but it is the basis for the way I eat most of the time. The book is logical and makes a lot of sense to me.

When I sign up, it says there are 7 spots left and after REVP, it says I m on waiting list. How could that be? I love Japanese food! I m sure this is the most enjoyable dinner that I will have compare with other ones. Because I have been into this restaurant and food is not very spicy for sure! I hope I get to go!

A bunch of people signed up within just a couple of hours of when this event was posted and that made it full, sorry. Some people do tend to cancel, though, so you never know.

At this place, there is one chef for each large table in the centre. The chef cooks your food right in front of you on a hot grill. There are menu choices like a couple kinds of beef, chicken, shrimp etc. with fresh-cooked mixed veggies, steamed rice, and dipping sauces - ginger sauce and steak sauce. They usually throw in a little humour while they're cooking and placing the food onto each person's plate. I have always liked the flavours of the food there.

317 10 Ave SW. It won't let me post the location. It's now where the Mother Tuckers used to be.
