Q) What types of exercises / activities do we do at the weekly workout?
A) I like variety and I like to get a good total body workout. Since we are a new group, we have been starting off slower to get acclimated to regular exercise, although I like to offer more challenges for those who are ready for it. We start off with stretching, then move on to a power walk / jog lap. After we are warmed up, I like to incorperate a wide variety of activities and mix it up every week. One week focuses on body sculpting techniques using our own body weights, the next we do some group activities or group sports, or the following week trim and tone with pilates. All exercises and activities are open to everyone -- regardless of age, gender, or physique (the only limiting factor is yourself).
Q) How long does the weekly workout take?
A) We get started at 10:00am and finish about 11:00am. Total time: 1 hour.
Q) Where at McKinley Park do we meet?
A) We meet at the north-east side of the rose garden. (Hint: look for the older lady with a small black dog and the younger blonde).
Q) What should I bring?
A) Plenty of water and a small sweat towel. Be sure to wear comfortable / loose clothing (I don't recommend jeans).
Q) Are there ever any weekend activities scheduled?
A) Not yet, but in the future I would like to plan some hikes and other fitness activities on the weekends.
