February is HEART HEALTH MONTH! So bring your heart health fitness and nutrition questions to the discussion on this hike!
This hike is for advanced beginners and intermediates. Thanks to a suggestion from a member, this trail goes up and down like interval training. We're doing it in the afternoon, so that perhaps we'll get more sunshine than the chilly mornings.
Please take a look at the map graphic with the RED CIRCLE for the trailhead, in residential area north of the intersection of Canyonback Road and Mountaingate Drive. There is more info on other hiking sites, but they start elsewhere.
FITNESS HIKE FORMAT= 60-90 minutes depending on the trail. We start with 10-15min strength training/fitness education, hike, mini-meditation and 10-15 min yoga stretch at the end. Please help pay it forward and bring $5-10 donation, which we'll do a group donation to LA's best to support afterschool programs for LA kids (or click to the left column of nonprofits we support to make your donation ahead of time).
Please dress in layers for the partly cloudy weather, bring hat/sunscreen, water, and bring a post-workout snack like trail mix. Due to the hills in this area, I might not have cellphone reception, so please look at the map for the location. Looking forward to see you on the hike!
