Nature Hike

Come out and enjoy a monthly hike around beautiful Circle B Bar Reserve.  Enjoy the abundant wildlife and varied plant life.  Bring your camera and/or binoculars, water, snack and bug/sun protection.

The hike starts at the walkway in front of the Nature Discovery Center building.  You will see a large sign with "Nature Discovery Center" hanging over the start of the boardwalk.

The Nature Discovery Center is located at the end of the paved drive into the Reserve and immediately adjacent to the main parking area.

You will pass several parking areas and trailheads before you reach the main building complex.

Another enjoyable morning at the Circle B. Migratory birds gone, and alligators nesting, but a nice Sunday morning walk with a great group of people.

Had an extremely good time & I must say it was great talking to someone else other than myself. I enjoyed very much the info that was passed onto us during the walk and look forward to the next gathering. Next time I talk to my sister in New Hampshire I will have to commend her on recommending Meetups to me. Prior to all my children growing up and my wife passing, it amazed me that I had such an interesting time with so many individuals. This was not something that I was used to for in the past my family took up so much of my time.

How many miles is this hike? Is it easy, moderate?

Usually around 4 or 5 miles depending on the groups preference. It is very easy as it is mostly flat hard pack surfaces.

wow, what a great response to this hike! especially in Florida in August! thanks and I will see u sunday morning.....I always give you all a choice of the short or longer hike or the short and long hike which would total about 5 miles....Marsh Rabbit Run trail has been closed for the last couple months because of gators nesting on it...maybe they have moved on!

water , of course, is a prerequisite and a little snack if u need it..I will stop a couple times ,,,cuz there is lots to see,, birds , gators, native plants and flowers that I like to point out and talk about..

I believe it was Jojo who said it is no fun doing things by yourself & I believe all of us would agree to that. I am really looking forward to the nature hike & various other activities. Part of my road trip in the mid-west was with my daughters. Seeing the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, rafting & canoeing on the Colorado was that much grander when you have someone there to appreciate it with you. Once they left everything else was lacking.

We raised six children [2girls, 4 boys] & they kept us young by camping, bicycle, canoeing, & all sorts of outdoor activities. The problem is that it just me now and this group gives me the chance to get back in shape again. I am "really" looking forward to this opportunity. Hopefully someone can explain how to my picture.

Hi, Bill, looking forward to meeting you on the hike, welcome!

This is a picture of my oldest daughter and you can see me in the background. She writes the way I used to during my early days. We have a tendency of losing those days as responsible family life invades our thoughts. Believe me, raising six children definitely invaded my thoughts. Going back on it all, "I would't change a thing".
