Backpacking 201

Come out and learn about intermediate topics that can be used on extended backpacking trips.  We will learn about lighter weight gear as well as how to make your own backpacking meals.

We will be bringing dehydrated food to prepare for everyone to sample.

If you have lightweight gear you would like to show off, please bring it along.  Please bring your cook stove and cooking / eating gear if you have some.  An assortment of stoves would be great for others to see.

Bring a notebook and pen to take notes.  And a drink/snack for while we are talking / sampling prepared foods.

I truly appreciated that David brought demo equipment; also shared lots of personal experience. Ralph's additional input and food samples were fabulous!

There are signs on Winter Lake Rd for the turn into Circle B. drive all the way into the preserve. You will come to a collection of buildings with a big sign over the start of the boardwalk. We will be in the building on the left.

Ah nice. I have been focused on repacking things like mac and cheese and instant oatmeal. Never crossed my mind to go with home made dry goods. Which is ad considering I have my own garden full of veggies...
