Tired of Twihard book clubs? Does “Fifty Shades of Grey” describe your complexion whenever someone mentions the words “New York Times Bestseller”? Now there’s something different just for you!
A sophisticated book club for intellectuals identifying as women, the Wo-Man Booker Club will focus on reading and discussing literature drawn from the long-list, short-list, and winners of the Man Booker literary prize. The goal of this book club is to provide a space for anyone identifying as a woman to come to discuss quality literature while socializing with like-minded individuals. Life’s too short to read bad literature!
The Wo-Man Booker club will be held at Stauf’s coffeehouse in downtown Grandview. Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of every month from 7:30pm-9:30pm. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends, drink great coffee, and discuss quality literature in a relaxed setting.
We'll be announcing our pick for May on Sunday, April 14, so make sure to vote for your favorite!
We'll be reading "The White Tiger" by Aravind Adiga for our May meeting, so feel free to join us on May 14 at 7:30.
