This group is for people in the Heidelberg area who would like to meet other people to improve their foreign language skills, specifically in English and German. So English native speakers can improve their German speaking with German native speakers and vice versa. It's all very relaxed, friendly and informal; a good place to practice with some nice people, no matter what level your language is at. Everyone welcome and we look forward to seeing you for a chat soon.
POINTS TO NOTE: As we are now quite a large group, all we ask of you is that if you say you are coming to a meeting, that you actually do show up. Obvious really, you would think. A lot of time goes into organising this group, part of which is booking tables at the venue for the event. Clearly, if you mark yourself as attending we will book a place for you and if you do not show then this can be problematic. Of course, we accept that things do change and it really is no problem - if things change and you can't make it, just please do use the 'not attending' button on this website. Easy :-)
We're a group run by volunteers and there is no charge for membership. However, we as the organisers are charged for the website etc then we'd really appreciate you making a donation to our costs if you've had fun. This is entirely voluntary - if you want to then just throw a few coins into Dave, our funky piggy bank, currently a red pig with white spots, which will also help new members to find us. Dave accompanies us…normally :-)
Also, whilst one of the points to this group is to make friends, the organisers will not tolerate any unsolicited lewd or aggressive approaches to members. This is not a dating club, although if you meet someone nice, then good for you! We want this to be fun and safe and we will block anyone who doesn't respect this. All clear? Good stuff, then enjoy!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
