McClellan Creek/Tepee Creek 9-mile loop

My cell number is[masked] if anyone needs it.  Guests and dogs are welcome. If weather turns stormy or we don't want to do the whole loop, we can always make it an out-and-back hike.

Some of us have hiked along the East Fork of McClellan Creek to Casey Meadows, but this time we'll turn up the McClellan Creek trail for a 9-mile loop, going through Casey Meadows on the way back.

Please note: This is not a leisurely hike. There will be several creek crossings and a significant climb of almost 2,300 feet. If you prefer gentler hikes, this might not be the one for you. It's likely to take several hours so you should bring your own lunch, water, bug spray, sunscreen, etc. Some of us brought water shoes last time, but that is up to you.

Here's a map of the route:

I picked Sunday for this hike because there is a trail race on some of the same trails on Saturday 8/2. We will meet at Montana City School to carpool, but if anyone needs a ride from Helena to the school, just let us know!

Had to change my rsvp to a no. Sunday I fell and bruised my knees. The right knee igot it bad and I am forced to do nothing but rest, sit, elevate and ice it... Should be back to normal sometime next week :(

Darn, hope you feel better soon. Good call -- from what I understand, this is not a hike that a person would want to undertake on a sore knee!

I have done this, and it was intense. Can't make it this time. I will be on the Flathead. Going to Csaey peak on this Sunday
