Hey group, thank you for the alerts and interests! All ended up well as stated below!

Again, a SAR meetup that doesn't have to meetup is a sucessful one!

About 55 people had been looking for 22-year-old Lindsey Pfundstein, concentrating efforts on trying to find clues along a network of trails leading from the Turkey Pen Gap trailhead.

Pfundstein said this afternoon that she had realized about dusk Sunday that she was not on the trail she had intended to hike.

She used a trail map to locate a shelter and stuffed a hammock with leaves to stay warm as she camped overnight.

She emerged from the woods this morning near the trailhead where she had parked her car.

That area is off N.C. 280 near the border between Henderson and Transylvania counties.

Pfundstein was reported missing about 7 p.m. Sunday by a friend.

She was as an avid hiker and had left a note with her roommate on where she intended to hike and when she would be back.

A network of trails — some of them wide and easily traversed — stretches out from the trailhead where searchers found her car.

Pfundstein said she had set out to hike a loop trail but ended up on a trail 10 miles west of her original destination.

She had been out of cell phone range at the trailhead, so Pfundstein said she left the phone in her car. She set out with three liters of water and a small backpack.

On her hike out this morning, she saw helicopters circling in the distance and figured a search for her was under way.

Mills River Fire and Rescue crews and those from the North Transylvania County Fire Department were involved in the search.

Searchers had not yet started looking in the area where Pfundstein was lost.

Thank you and we'll see you on the trail!
