Meet other local East Texans concerned about the direction the country is moving and who want to return to the rule of law and the Constitution. We will meet to discuss both Texas and national politics. Specifically, we will keep up with bills at the state and federal levels and engage in letter writing and phone call campaigns to encourage our representatives and senators to vote a particular way. Furthermore, since there are so many unconstitutional "laws" on the books these days we will also make an effort to encourage our elected officials to repeal those "laws". Our basic guiding principle in this effort will be as follows:
The US Constitution had a particular meaning when the Founding Fathers wrote it. Over the years, that meaning has not changed. The only way the Constitution can be changed is through an amendment. Any laws passed by Congress that go against that original meaning of the Constitution are obviously unconstitutional. We must strive to make our elected officials recognize and defend the original meaning of the Constitution, or the Republic will inevitably fall.
Besides these efforts, we will also do our best to support the campaigns of those who share our views.
