On Wednesday September 4th we will be hosting an 'intro to Makerbot 3D Printing' class from 6:30pm until about 8:30pm. There is no need to bring any supplies, HexCorp will provide materials and refreshments. While you are here you will also be able to check out the other machinery and gadgets around our Makerspace.
This fully working Planetary Gear is the 3D printed item you will actually be taking home with you after the class:
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
- Our intro to 3D printing class
- Certification to use our 3D printer
- Your own 3D printed object to take home
- A list of free online resources to download awesome 3D objects that are ready to print out!
- Resources on creating your own 3D objects and parts
- Great networking opportunity with like-minded Makers
Once you are certified to use our 3D printer: you will be able to reserve machine time in the future between 10am and 10pm on Wednesdays (soon we will be expanding our Makerspace hours to include 2 more days, including Saturdays!).
For those who have already taken our intro class: please feel free to reserve machine time on our equipment between 10am to 10pm, if you are not yet comfortable on the machines we suggest you come in at 5:30pm or later so that we may assist you with any questions you may have.
Hope to see you there!!
PAYMENTS: Please use the 'pay via paypal' link after you RSVP. Please note that Paypal is correctly accepting the $20 class fee payment, however, Meetup is not marking 'Paid'. Please do not worry about this as we will manually mark you as paid.
You can also directly paypal the $20 class fee to '[masked]' and include your Meetup Username and Class Date (Wednesday July 10th)!
3D Scanning: The following Wednesday we will be conducting a 6:30pm 3D SCANNING CLASS!! This will enable people to scan objects and even people. This would enable you to then 3D print an action figure or bobble head of yourself! We use the Xbox Kinect Scanner in our office for 3D scanning, however we also will show you how to scan at home and/or on the go using your iPhone or any standard digital camera.
